ER/LA Opioid REMS: Achieving Safe Use While Improving Patient Care
On July 9, 2012, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved a risk evaluation and mitigation strategy for extended-release and long-acting opioid medications. The multidisciplinary Collaborative on Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy Education has designed a core curriculum based on needs assessment, practice gaps, clinical competencies, and learner self-assessment with shared tools, resources, and outcomes to meet the requirements of the FDA REMS Blueprint.
